The entrance welcomes the visitors with some representative works of these areas: along the suggestive wooden stairs created by Nino Barbantini - who realized the first museum setting between 1925 and 1928 - there are some Chinese and Japanese spears and weapons; on the first landing there is a khmer statue, probably unfinished, dating back to X or XI century. Then, the six Japanese armours here exposed are very impressive. \nFive of them were made during the Edo period, when the Tokugawa sh\u014dgun extended their control all over the country, giving birth to a new administrative and military capital in Edo (now Tokyo) and maintaining the peace for 250 years. This is the reason why the weapons and armours created in this period were richly decorated: they were used for parades above all.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
