The Direzione regionale Musei Veneto<\/strong>\nand the Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo e la Documentazione (ICCD) of the Ministry of Culture (MiC), together with the Galleria Internazionale d'Arte Moderna Ca' Pesaro present the photographic exhibition Claudio Gobbi. An Atlas of Persistence<\/strong><\/strong>,\na cura di Francesca Fabiani. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition features two photographic projects, the first one on the iconography of 20th-century theatre interiors throughout Europe, tracing a geography of the continent with more than more than 25 countries; the second one on the typological immutability of Armenian churches, scattered even outside their historical territories, which gives a visual encyclopaedia, an album of the ever-equal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Gobbi explains: One of the central themes of my work is the search for recurring characteristics that can be considered as defining elements of a certain type of culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition is the first event in a programme of events and exhibitions that will be showcased in various Venetian cultural venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Claudio Gobbi<\/strong>\n(Ancona, Italy, 1971) studied photography at the Bauer Institute in Milan, specialising under the guidance of Gabriele Basilico. His projects - characterised by a continuous work in progress<\/em> His projects address issues of cultural identity and borders, transnationality, the East-West encounter, and the relationship between art, architecture and and cultural anthropology, approached from their own context: Europe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has received many awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the various publications the monograph Arm\u00e9nie Ville<\/em> published in 2016 by Hatje Cantz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
