His works seem in a sense to overthrow the visual culture of neopop: they aim to create an effect of disorientation through the combination of colorful and playful images, -derived from Japanese and Chinese pop cultures- and the messages contained in the ideographic writing or in the materials used, which often suggest an idea of danger and refer to the sense of anxiety and precariousness that permeates contemporary society.\n\n\nTranslated with www.DeepL.com\/Translator (free version)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">\"Inori\" (2021) is a video projection on a specially made dress inspired by mizugoromo; dresses often used in Japanese N\u014d theater, worn by workers, travelers, and wandering yamabushi monks: here the dress seems to recall a human presence without revealing it. The video projection proceeds in an epiphanic way, bringing out, as if from a liminal zone, suggestions and symbolism that are then structured in complex forms. The work wants to be a symbolic \"prayer\" (as the title in Japanese) and an invitation to reflection and contemplation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">In addition to the dress, it takes other features from N\u014d theater, such as the use of taiko in the sound, or the masks: they seem to suggest, through fixed types, a reflection on human nature, life and the cyclical nature of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The video presents images and colors with a strong archetypal value, such as water, universal symbol of purity, or the eye, or even the fish and the whiteness of the tones, in contrast with more dramatic visions, related to the problems of the contemporary world: these suggestions, however, are never fully revealed, but remain enigmatically contemplative and are accompanied by writings, typical of the \"liquid\" pop, advertising and virtual culture in which we are immersed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">The structure of the audio itself, realized with koto and taiko, is inspired by the musical theory of jo ha ky\u016b and highlights with its seductive, almost hypnotic tone, the cyclic structure of the video, shot in different places between East and West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On December 11\nDecember 2021 the entrance to Ca' Pesaro will be free. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Damiano Fasso (Montecchio Maggiore 1976) has a degree in Literature from the Catholic University of Brescia and a diploma in Decoration from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, he also studies Oriental languages and cultures, which he often uses in his production, which ranges from painting to photography, from video art to installations. He has participated in important events, both national and international: in 2018 he exhibited at C.A.R. Contemporary Art Ruhr (Essen) and at the 8. Contemporary Art Review at Casa dei Carraresi (Treviso); in 2018 and 2019 he was awarded at the Turin and Milanese editions of Paratissima; in 2019 he was awarded at SaturArte (Genoa); in 2020 he participated in REA! Art Fair at Fabbrica del Vapore (Milan) and exhibited at Politecnico di Torino for Green iDeal as part of the Technology Biennale.
